Do we have to start all our sessions with the 5 questions (also known as "T-GOALS" or the "Coaching Agreement")?
How to start coaching sessions
Yes, you should create the coaching agreement (or T-GOALS) at the beginning of each coaching session. This way, you have a clear understanding of the client’s agenda and you have the client’s buy-in. A coaching session without a clear agenda is like a ship without a rudder—it goes nowhere.
Additionally, while learning to create the coaching agreement, we encourage you to ask the questions as they are written. That way, there is no confusion during the final exam to whether you have asked them or not.
